The fundraising campaign
We would like to take advantage of the interest in our participation in the RAAM 2012 to raise donations for people with disabilities.
Enthusiasm, passion, companionship!
More than 100 athletes from the Heinrich Kimmle Foundation in Pirmasens engage in various sporting disciplines and regularly practise for participating in national and international sports events held by the Special Olympics organisation.
Special Olympics is a movement with a holistic offer for people with mental and multiple disabilities. It aims for an inclusive society. Worldwide there are more than three million active athletes from 175 nations. There is probably no other sports event, for which the Olympic idea is as relevant. The most important thing is not to win but to take part, everyone is a winner. There are more than 5,000 volunteers who support the Special Olympics in Germany.
Sporting activities give disabled people the opportunity to develop physical fitness and to strengthen their self-confidence and personality.
“Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.“
In line with this motto, the endurance athlete Hans Georg Haus and his Team Domus will participate in the Race Across America for the benefit of disabled people.
